Our website address is: https://www.selida.co.uk.

General

The privacy of everyone who uses this website will be respected and protected. Any information that is shared through this website will be kept confidential and this statement sets out how this information may be used.

Legislation

Legislation including the Data Protection Act 1998 and the GDPR set out requirements for how data is processed, and we adhere to these. Any information or personal data that is provided by you through this website or our services is used in accordance with this privacy statement.

This privacy statement will be reviewed as appropriate, and where we make updates, a new version will be posted on our website. To ensure you are happy with any changes, you should check this page occasionally for any updates. If you are not happy with the information set out in this or future privacy statements, please leave this website immediately and delete and block all cookies from this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We may collect, store and use information about your visits to and use of this website, such as the contact you interact with. We may collect information about your visits to this website such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views. We may use this information to improve this website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Your data will be seen by people working for The Wine Word who need your data to improve the website and the information that we are providing.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments and provided your data, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Personal data submitted on this website will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website. The data you share and provide will be used to carry out the services that you request from us, such as receiving news or updates. We will only use it to contact you where we have a legitimate reason to do so, or where you have provided consent for this: it will only be used for the purpose for which it is supplied.

There may be circumstances where we are required to disclose personal data without seeking the consent of the data subject. Where these circumstances occur, we will employ legal assistance where necessary, verify the request is legitimate and only then disclose the data. This is to the extent that we are required to do so by law.

How long do we hold information for?

If we have not had meaningful contact with you for two years, we will then delete any personal data we hold. Please note that vouchers purchased for our courses do have an expiry date, but this is less than the period for which we retain personal data.

At any time you may ask us to delete your personal data, and we will do so subject to any legal restrictions or our ability to do so. Any personal data that is deleted is logged anonymously, with details on what was removed and when this took place.

How can you control your personal information?

You can change your mind or withdraw your consent about the way we use your personal data at any time. If you wish to do this, please contact us at contactus@selida.co.uk
